What is LBPG?

LBPG stands for "Local Plant Based Gsastronomy" initiated by a research project sponsored by Thailand Research Fund. We believe that local plants in each ecological system are crucial not only to the environment but also to the local culture and local living. To conserve the local plants is to conserve the nature and local culture. LPBG attempts to communicate this concept through the local cuisine which is cooked from local plants. We believe that all plants are useful in some ways, thus no plant is treated as a weed. There is no weed in the world, really.

What does LPBG do?

LBPG studies edible plants and medicinal plants based on the local wisdoms. We communicates the knowledge in a form of experiential tourism. Local plants are presented by young chefs who cook food for the special interest groups of tourists. The main aim is to create the awareness on the importance of local plants on environment and cultural landscapes.

Why LPBG?

LPBG recognizes the ecological diversity and local wisdom that help continue the existence of local plants.
